Nike Zoom Kobe IV Review

Codename: Spiderman Kobe 4's

These were the first shoes I've ever played in from Kobe since Nike started sponsoring him. I wasn't a big fan of the Kobe 1,2, and 3 (and Hyperdunk PE) due to their high cut nature. But since the introduction of fly wire, when the 4's debuted, they were the lightest basketball shoe on the market. Flex isn't that great but weight, agility, grip, and tread were all very strong features of the Nike Zoom Kobe IV's. Once the shoe had been broken in and I no longer cared if I creased the toes, I played harder in them. I have played in these shoes at the park countless of times and it still shows a little tread left. These were my go to pair since I was confident in its performance. I had bought my first pair of Kobe V's by the time I decided to play on my spidermans. Of course I wouldn't play in a shoe without having a spare. I have the Lakers Home colorway as my backup walking and casual shoe which was also the first colorway I picked up. Overall, great all around shoe. Definitely a shoe for the 1 and 2 positions. I would rate it a 9/10.

Nike Zoom Kobe VI Review

A few weeks back I decided to retire my Kobe IV's and give the VI's a shot on the basketball court at the park. I have to say they performed really well. It is light as usual, with good grip, and flexible. Flexibility and weight would probably be my two favorite features of this shoe. It bends freely and is extremely light. Because of the scale design, the toe creases are hardly visible. The only downside is that I feel these have worn out faster than my 4's. The treadwear isn't all that great. After 3 Sundays at the park at maybe 3-5 games each, these have shown as much wear than my 4's. However, they are more comfortable and very fashionable on/off the court. Here are some up close pics of my Nike Zoom Kobe VI playoff colorway. I highly recommend these shoes whether they are just for walking, basketball at the park, or a more competitive league type of play. I wonder if the these would've lasted longer if they were strictly indoor shoes. Overall, I rate this shoe 9/10 for great flexibility, weight, grip, and breathability.
